Sandler Trade LLC is proud to offer internship opportunities for college students during the Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer semesters.
We especially seek students who are multi-lingual, have international experience and/or background, and seek to work as social entrepreneurs in the intersection of international trade and sustainable business growth in developing economies.
At our firm you will obtain hands-on experience helping developing-country producers and associations to identify export markets, learn about market taste preferences, work through cost and pricing analyses, obtain financing, link up with individual exporters, address importing country regulatory requirements, and handle logistics concerns.
Our interns also participate in ongoing research to identify the most effective organizational mechanisms to help microfinance borrowers expand their markets through exporting; work with specific countries’ U.S. embassies to pinpoint focused export expansion strategies; and draft proposals for project funding.
We also rely on our interns’ creativity to expand the firm’s social media presence, including developing innovative effective marketing strategies for clients and the firm.
Interns should have a background in international trade, microfinance, international development, and/or business. Required are a willingness to delve into new subjects; good research, analytical, writing, and organizational skills; knowledge of or interest in working with basic import and export data; and ease in talking with people from all nations via skype and in person. Availability of at least 15 hours a week is necessary.
